EliteFTS –  Great training articles as well as great products and excellent services Juggernaut Training Systems – The owner Chad is a young innovative trainer and he also knows a thing or two about getting strong (he holds the American Squat record in the 308 class, squatting 905 lbs.) Movement

I have been reading a lot of material from Grey Cook lately, actually I just finished his book Movement today.  The book itself completely changed the way I look at functional movement and rehabilitation.  Everyday after reading a few chapters I said to myself “Duh, why didn’t I think of that?” His approach to rehabilitation and exercise in general makes perfect sense and  exposes many flaws in our health and fitness industry today.  Even though we are the most technologically advanced we have ever been in the health and fitness field, rates of injury are at an all time high not to mention obesity rates rise each year as well.  Take a second to think about this….It makes no sense at all.  You would think that as we advance technologically and become more and more educated the injury/obesity rates should decline. Obviously we are doing something wrong….. The point that Cook continuously makes throughout his book and all of his other writings is that fitness/rehabilitation professionals need to appreciate the importance of developing functional and fluid movements for all populations.  We need to move away from the reactive mentality and adopt one of prevention.  Rather than prescribe medication to reduce the knee […]
