Kristy Plonisch is one tough lady. She’s up for the competition and pushes herself to the edge. You will find her here most days early in the morning, bearing the cold with her signature hat, preparing to lift heavy weights. A dedicated mother and wife, she definitely personifies what it means to be strong.
Kristy was kind enough to take the hat off and answer a few questions for us…

“Training at O.B. has been amazing. I came in and basically told Ryan & Christina I wanted to get strong!” – Kristy Plonisch
Q: Tell us a little about you.
Kristy: I am a 35 year old wife, mom to a 6 year old (and a crazy dog) and I work part time at Nimey’s The New Generation. I enjoy game night with my family, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, traveling, sewing, reading and warm weather.
Q: How long have you been training with O.B. Training?
Kristy: I have been training at O.B. Training & Sports Performance since August 2014. I was frustrated with figuring out the best workout plan for myself and needed some guidance.
Q: How has training at O.B. Training & Sports Performance helped you become a better athlete/mom/wife/healthy person?
Kristy: Training at O.B. has been amazing. I came in and basically told Ryan & Christina I wanted to get “strong”. I had lived with chronic shoulder and neck pain, so that was something they helped me address, through functional movement training, stretches, and foam rolling. I can honestly say I have been pain free for the past 6 months. We also worked on getting strong. I told Ryan some specific goals I would like to attain in 2015 and he came up with a training plan to reach those goals and I have no doubt I will reach and probably exceed them. My posture is also incredible now (something I thought I’d never be able to say). It’s much easier to live a well balanced life when you feel good!
Q: What’s your favorite thing about training O.B. Training & Sports Performance?
Kristy: Ryan & Christina are so supportive and push you to reach your goals. They are always available when I need advice or have a question. They really care about their clients. I also love that I can get all my workouts done in 3 one hour sessions a week and that they don’t make me run 🙂
Q: Who is you favorite cartoon character and why?
Kristy: Dr. Heinz Doofenschmirtz. He is ridiculous.
Q: What’s your favorite and least favorite exercise?
Kristy: It’s so hard to choose one! I love all of the big lifts: squats, bench, and deadlift. My least favorite is Inverted row (and anything having to do with a sled)
Q: What was the first concert you went to see?
Kristy: Not sure, but my favorite was Ben Folds Five.
