“My favorite thing about O.B. Training & Sports Performance is the way Ryan and Christina treat all of us like family and make sure we’re always working hard.” – Mike Johnson, 16, Notre Dame Junior-Senior High School varsity baseball player
Name: Michael Johnson
Alias: Magic Mike
Age: 16
School: Notre Dame Junior-Senior High School
Sport: Varsity baseball
Mike Johnson joined the O.B. Training & Sports Performance family in August and began training with our expert coaches Ryan Obernesser and Christina D’Amico. Mike’s competitive spirit has impressed us, but it’s his good-natured attitude that makes him stand out. Mike often is caught doing the “shmoney” dance while on a glute ham raise or singing Backstreet Boys or Ace of Base ballads. When he’s not dancing or singing, he’s challenging coach Ryan to a wrestling match. Mike is a key component of the O.B. Training & Sports Performance family, and we wouldn’t know what to do without him.
Here’s what Mike had to say during a break from singing and dancing:
O.B.: You’re currently on the Notre Dame High School varsity baseball team. Do you remember when you first started playing baseball?
Mike: I’ve been playing since I was 5 years old.
O.B.: How has training at O.B. Training & Sports Performance helped you become a better athlete?
Mike: O.B Training has helped increase my speed and strength immensely and also given me a better work ethic both in and out of training.
O.B.: What do you like most about training at O.B. Training & Sports Performance?
Mike: My favorite thing about O.B. Training & Sports Performance is the way Ryan and Christina treat us like family and make sure we’re always working hard.
O.B.: If you could meet any professional athlete who would it be?
Mike: Ken Griffey Jr. He was a class act on and off the field, and he has the best swing in Major League Baseball history.
O.B.: What is your favorite and least favorite exercise to do at the gym?
Mike: My favorite exercise is back squatting and my least favorite is the prowler challenge.
O.B.: What’s your favorite cartoon character and why?
Mike: Sponge Bob Square Pants, because he always makes me laugh.
